It was important for the Client to deliver a pedestrian realm that is inviting, shaded and colourful. Seeking to cater for outdoor restaurant & café seating, free-flow to retain units, provision for cyclists and ease of passage for pedestrians moving through the site.
The design quality of the vehicular corridors is just as important when delivering a cohesive urban landscape.
The double row of trees set in low ground level planting adds colour and vibrancy to the contemporary mixed grey hardscape streetscene.
The unified streetscape furniture palette is a simple and elegant statement contributing seamlessly to the overall streetscape aesthetic
Speed control need not only be practical; the selection of materials and their installation design are integral to the overall streetscape language. This table-top pedesterian crossing is preceded by raised stone cobble speed bumps and table ramps, helping to slow drivers approaching the pedestrian crossing.
