Noor Community Town Square
Place Dynamix has completed the planning and design of the 30 hectare Noor Community set in the Town Square Project in the growing neighbourhoods of South Dubai. The community will include over 750 new villa townhouses as well as retail space, parks and mosque. Place dynamix provided concept to detailed master planning services as well as concept landscape architecture to the project and our client, Nshama Properties.
The design of the Community is based upon a network of short streets, sikka and linear park networks that give a majority of properties views to open space as well as access along landscaped greenways to three community parks from the rear of their properties. A number of streets are designed along the principles of livable streets with shared-space Mushtarek, short lengths and sensitive traffic calming to slow traffic to safer residential speeds. The shared-space Mushtarek are a crucial element in achieveing liveable neighbourhoods where people rather than vehicles are the priority. The street and public realm design also supports a unique place identity within Dubai and usable public space for residents.
A number of green community parks are provided along the open space network to encourage healthy and active lifestyles. A variety of sports, pools and children’s play areas are provided. Linear parks will enable people from all corners of the community to access the central parks and retail areas as well as creating a pleasant outlook from the rear of the townhouses. The design of the open rear boundaries will encourage social connections and the development of neighbourhood communities.
