The World Heritage Site at Angkor, one of world’s most important sites, together with over 1000 other temples, relics and a wide range of eco-tourism resources. Evaluated natural and cultural resources for the development of strategic eco-tourism plan.
Detailed evaluation of various projects including the preparation of indicative master plans and urban design development briefs for the area surrounding the world heritage sites including urban development plan for Siam Reap. Tourism visitation was 125,000 per annum and projected by the study to reach 2.25 million over 10 years. The regional plan provided the land use and transportation framework to enable delivery of the tourism infrastructure necessary for this growth. Actual visitation in 2007 was 2.5 million with tourist nights expanded from 1 to 4.5 million.
