The Qatar Economic Zone 3 is the largest economic zone being planned in Qatar and central to the government’s vision to diversify the economy beyond oil and gas revenue. Place Dynamix provided a number of specialist services to the lead engineer to ensure the economic zone would be designed to the quality the government expects.

The 37 square kilometer site beside the new Port facilities will be a major hub for light industrial activity and attract a variety of new industries involved in the growth of Qatar and preparation for World Cup 2022.

Place Dynamix are providing a range of services to control architectural and public realm quality through the creation of guidelines, regulations and lot control plans. Proposals are balanced between the control of key design elements whilst allowing economic flexibility for the area to grow into the region’s premier economic zone.

Place Dynamix is also providing full landscape architecture services for all streets, parks and the rehabilitation of a long stretch of environmentally sensitive coast line. All landscape proposals for the development are based on xeri-landscape principles of low water consumptive and locally native or adapted planting. Due to the anticipated high footfall from the resident community, the shading of streets and parks was a fundamental principle along with the minimization of TSE use.
