Palmar Golf Resort and Nature Park
The Palmar master plan site constitutes 170 hectares of untouched beautiful land with mountain views, surrounded by spectacular beaches and popular existing amenities within the eastern coastal tourist region. Tourism proposals are supported by government policy aimed at encouraging growth in tourism numbers and strengthening the existing sporting, recreation and hospitality brand. The proposals developed by Place Dynamix sought to build upon the key assets of the site and its location while creating a flexible land use and phasing strategy for new leisure, sporting and residential development.
The design team explored different ways of creating value through active sporting (golf) facilities or more passive parkland recreation. The proposed master plan and phasing strategy seeks to balance the objectives and allow for an evolutionary growth of the site. Various options for land use and site arrangement were developed in collaboration with the landowner and local planning & market feasibility advisors. Golf course proposals utilized the sloping topography of the site with housing on elevated areas to afford long views to mountains and short views to either the golf course or nature park.
